He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. —Psalm 113:9

It's a Start

I wrote 1,009 words today. Of actual story, not outline or synopsis. And I wrote 262 words yesterday for a beginning total of 1,271 words of first draft. Go me.

What's amazing me is how easily it's coming, simply because of how well I know these characters now. When I first attempted to write this story, what, two years ago? Good Lord, it has been two years. That's two whole years that they've been living in my brain, going through their plotlines over and over like their own Groundhog Day, stuck in rehearsal limbo until they got it right. And now that I've freed them they know exactly what to do and say. I know them like old friends, and it's no longer a matter of figuring out who they are or how they would react to a situation. They just are, and they're just doing it. And what they're doing is so much better than anything I made them do before.

It's pretty cool.

Thanks.

I know the wind won't last, but I plan to ride it as far as I can, as fast as I can, without looking back.

Whoosh! Lookit me go!
