Man. I was psyched to have some extra showing up on my paycheck this morning , but then I paid my bills and deducted money for the house savings fund and some spending money for Matt, and now I'm all broke again. Bah. But at least I applied the extra to my debt. Now I'm only two months away from having one of my credit cards entirely paid off. So good on me.
I think once that's done that we'll take a break from driving down the debt long enough to build up an emergency fund. I know the experts tell you not to do that; they say there's no point in having a savings fund when you have credit card debt, and that if you have any savings you should apply it to your credit cards. But it makes more sense to me to have some savings set aside, so that if some urgent need does arise, we won't have to charge it and undo all of our progress.
At least I've got a good long list of more things to get rid of via eBay, so that should cushion the blow somewhat. Although it's starting to look like I'm going to have to pay someone to take that frigging Dancing Jar Jar Binks off my hands. Poor Jar Jar gets no love.
