The following is a paid advertisement for Select Loans.

Current or potential borrowers in the UK might be interested in this personal loans site, which in addition to allowing you to apply for loans online also offers reviews on various British banks and their loan programs, mortgage advice, and information on the difference between secured loans and unsecured loans. It appears to be similar to the American site Lending Tree in providing one-stop comparison shopping for financing options. The site won't be of much help to me thanks to geography, but I know I have readers in the UK, and I know I have plenty of debts that could stand to be consolidated, plus needs on the horizon for a car loan and, eventually, a mortgage loan, and I know I'm not alone in that boat.

Personally, as a fiction writer who is clueless about the British banking system, I'm bookmarking this site as a research tool. It has a lot of good information on how things work across the pond.
