He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. —Psalm 113:9

Black eyes and blue skies

Yesterday was so, so pretty. It's the best time of spring -- everything is green and lush and clean from all the recent rain, but it all still looks so vibrant and new. There were smells in the air of cut grass and honeysuckle and yummy things getting grilled in back yards. Matt and I took Fizzgigg and each other for a walk around our end of the neighborhood; well, for Fizzgigg it was more of a ride than a walk. He's much too wee and gimpy to keep up, so he got carried the whole way. But he still seemed to enjoy it.

Matt must have forgotten about April Fool's Day as much as I did, because I got through the entire day without being traumatized once.

Saturday was also gorgeous as we went to visit Step-dad-in-law in the hospital. He's being treated for pneumonia, and they still don't know why his heart sped up so much; but he seems to be recovering, and that's the main thing.

Speaking of sick and injured parental units, my mom managed to get her feet tangled up in her dog's leash and fall right on her face. Now she's sporting a giant, swollen black eye, and we're all eternally grateful that it wasn't much worse.

Nobody offered an opinion on which layout I should go with. Well, fine. Force me to make up my own mind, why'n'cha?

I've got some time to think about it yet; I need to get some paid writing out of the way before I start fiddling with blog stuff. I know the end of the week is going to get busy with big-ass client meeting preparations (which pretty well guarantees that next week will be insane), so I'm trying to get as much done at the front of this week as possible. And yes, by the way, I did make my thousand words this morning. Whoo!

Happy Monday, y'all. Cheer up. It's a short week.

I like the first one, it's very "Spring-y".

Hope all your sick/injured family heal soon!

I like the second one, personally...First one is a bit Too springy. The second is calm, cool, a bit too sexy for You (meaning them over there, not You), and that fits.

I like the color palette of the first one, but the design of the second one (the first one's design is much too paisley-like for me...but me no likey paisley).

So yeah, basically I'm no help at all. :)

Thanks for the input, guys. After spending time away from them both, I think I'm leaning toward #2, myself. The first one is pretty, but it's almost obnoxiously girly, and I'm pretty sure I'd get sick of it faster.

But I also just realized that the second one is kind of reminiscent of Pamie.com, and that's a bit bothersome. I don't want anybody to think I'm trying to steal her look.

Hmm.
