According to my trusty pedometer, yesterday I walked the equivalent of three miles in the course of getting my work done. In high heels, I might add. No wonder I was so ready to collapse. Sheesh.
Speaking of collapsing, this morning I can barely hold my head up, I'm so sleepy. I actually had to put it down on my desk for a few minutes just now. It's my own fault--being so tired last night, I had every intention of going to bed nice and early, but I was so close to finishing my book, and then since I was up anyway I figured I might as well go ahead and watch Lost, and then I woke up in the middle of the night with a coughing fit and the only cough suppressant in the house was Nyquil... so, yeah. Very sleepy. Also, I ran out of ginseng a few days ago and have been too lazy/tired to stop by the store and pick up more, and by now it's all out of my system, so I don't even have fake herbal-induced energy. Did I mention the part where I have hypothyroidism and I'm not taking any meds for it and the ginseng is pretty much where all of my energy comes from?
Seriously, once the things are done that I put off yesterday because I was just too tired to deal, I might just go home. In the mean time, caffeine is SO TOTALLY my BFF.

Sorry about the tiredness. Why are you not on medication for your hypothyroidism, if I can ask? I have hypothyroidism, too, and know how important it is to take your medication (especially if you're trying to lose weight!)
Sorry if I'm being too nosy... :-)

I don't think you're nosy. I stopped taking it waaaay back in 2001 after I got laid off and lost my health coverage. Now that I'm all employed and insured again, it's just sheer laziness and procrastination. I need to find a new GP and I keep putting it off. There's really no excuse. I'm just lame.
Yeah, I totally understand the not having of health insurance. In case you want to know, there is a more natural (but still prescription) form of thyroid medication called Armour Thyroid. It costs me (w/o insurance) maybe $10.00-15.00 / month for a 30-day supply. I'm sure you know all of this, but depression, weight gain, soreness/tiredness, and fertility problems can happen without treatment.
I was off of mine for a while and felt terrible. When I started excercising and trying to take more care of me this year, I realized that my medication (and vitamins, etc.) were all a part of "taking care of me" :-)
I sound like a fraking infomercial, so I'm gonna shut up now!

I take Armour Thyroid, too, and it is relatively inexpensive. Honestly, with you trying to lose weight, it is important to have your thyroid functioning well, or you can watch your caloric intake and exercise with very little results. Also, your energy levels would probably improve.
Okay, my motherly nagging is done!
I haven't heard of the Armour stuff, so thanks for the rec. I tried taking a bovine hormone supplement a few years ago, but stopped when I got paranoid about mad cow disease. I couldn't really tell that it was doing anything for me, though.
I finally broke down and made a doctor's appointment for a little under a month from now, so that should get me back on some medication for it. I used to take Synthroid, and that worked pretty well. I'm on a health/natural/organic kick now, though, so I'll check into the Armour. Thanks again!
