Gratitude Journal, vol. 4 - UPDATED
Now is a good time for me to resurrect the Gratitude Journal and try to get my attitude back into positive alignment. Without any whining or further ado, here are five things for which I'm grateful:
Coffee. Seriously.
Midol. Even more seriously.
Free lunch. Because my company is celebrating Employee Appreciation Day today with free burgers for everybody. Woo. Update: Hot dogs and baked beans, too! I mean it, you guys, my company could not have picked a better day to bless me with free comfort food.
That I have a husband who is very loving and patient with my hormonal, irritable self, even when he himself is feeling crappy and grumpy.
That I have a God who is in control, and I need to remember to trust that and stop worrying about every little thing.

I like the idea of a Gratitude Journal. We all like to moan and itemize our problems. Much better to praise the good things!
1. I'm grateful for a husband who can fix just about anything.
2. I'm grateful for two kids who are smart, considerate, and loving.
3. I'm happy that my family lets me put up a Christmas tree before Halloween (without too much eye rolling).
4. I'm happy my son is dating a girl I love. My grandchild (far future) will be blind, need braces, and be born grasping a bottle of 45 SPF sunscreen. (Both are very fair, nearsighted, and had maladjusted bites.) Due to girlfriend's love of fantasy, my grandson's name will be Merlinwithacauldron or Dragonbane Lancelot. I will love Merlinwithacaludron, nevertheless.
5. I love my cat. Even when he eats the Christmas tree, barfs it up, and I step in it first thing in the morning in my bare feet. He is so precious and sweet.
I've found that it's definitely a good way to clear my bad head and stop myself from wallowing in self-pity. And, hee! Be ye also thankful that your cat doesn't jump up on the bed to barf it up while you're still in it, like mine did last night.
