He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. —Psalm 113:9

If rainy days and Mondays bring me down...

...then today is about as low as it gets.

Not really, though. I'm in a pretty decent mood, despite rain, despite gloominess, despite Monday, and despite less sleep last night than I would have liked.

I spent most of the weekend doing entrepreneurial knitty things, which were both fun and educational, if not exactly profitable. I also wrapped up all of my eBay auctions, which means today I get to skip my lunch hour at the gym in favor of standing in line at the post office, whoo doggies! My auctions didn't do quite as well as I'd hoped, but they still brought in enough to take care of some major annual bills that are due at the end of the month, so I'm not complaining.

I am complaining a little about this Pay Per Post thing, though, because they rolled out a lot of changes last week that appear to have rendered this blog ineligible for the majority of good opportunities listed there. The thought that I'll be posting fewer sponsored posts might make some readers pretty happy, but it's kind of a trade-off, because to offset the loss I've added a new widget to the bottom of my posts that will allow fellow "Posties" the opportunity to review my posts and split the fee. I guess this also means I'll be reviewing a lot of other people's blog posts here, too. Should be interesting to see how this goes.

I'm also kvetching at having my preferred domain yanked out from under me. Last week while shopping for a host I ran my old domain, jeanjeanie.net, through several look-up utilities, all of which said it was available. When I signed up with my current host I included a request to have them set up that domain for my new site, but then I never heard a peep from them on the subject. This morning, when I checked to see if they'd set it up yet, the url pointed me to a web site for a London boutique that sells blue jeans. In the spirit of full-circle serendipitousness, it's the same boutique whose sign I had to stop and take a picture of when walking past with my mom and Li'l Sis on our trip to London lo these many years ago. None of this would be such a big deal if not for the fact that on Friday I ordered a box of business cards with that URL. Curse you, Jean Jeanie Jeans, you and your domain-grabby ways! I shake my tiny fist at you!

Blargle.

I'm still trying to get my brain back into office-mode, and once that happens I've got a lot of paperwork to take care of today. Once that's done, I'll get back to work on the site-building. There's still quite a lot of site to build, so the sooner I get to it, the better.
