He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. —Psalm 113:9

Yet more ways to make some cash via this here intertubes doo-hickey

What did I say about catching up on work and then working on the web site? Yeah, well. You know how it is. Today's distraction involved signing up for Associated Content and Helium, both of which are user-generated content sites that pay for article contributions. It's a step up from pay-per-post programs, but still a step down from actual freelance writing, methinks, so it's not exactly going to provide me with pub credits. But, and that's a cheery 'but,' it's money for writing stuff I want to write about, without any of the research-query-submission process required for freelance work that I don't really have time for these days... and if I do, then I'd rather spend it building fiction credits, anyway.

In case you're wondering, I'm not giving up on PPP...yet. I really think (hope) that more opportunities will open up for me once they get all of the bugs squished. But all of the problems they're having with the new rollout has confirmed what I already suspected, which is that I shouldn't rely on only them to supplement my paycheck each month. Not that I was doing that.

Speaking of which, Get Rich Slowly has begun a timely (for me) series of articles on how to earn money from your hobbies, the first of which lists six tips for money-making hobbies. Numbers 4 and 5 are where my endeavors usually fall apart. I'm determined not to let that happen this time, though. Hopefully, something in this article series will give me just the emotional push I need to stay the course.
