I'm talking about the free Norton Antivirus software that's being given away by Google, which you can download through FreeAntivirusInfo.com. According to various product reviews, this new GooglePack version not only scans and alerts you to existing viruses, it also cleans them from your hard drive--no subscription fee required. Both my computer--back when I had my own working computer, in days gone by -- and my mom's paid the price a year or two ago because we were both too cheap to spring for a good anti-virus protection service subscription. Now even risk-taking cheapskates like us have no excuse not to firm up our computers' defenses. My mom learned her lesson and sprung for a good program for her computer, but you can be sure that when I finally get mine replaced I'll be taking full advantage of this.
