It's like Drabble Tag for non-fandom nerds!

Which is not necessarily to say non-nerds, because, you know, I've known a few writers in my time, myself included, and... well. That's all I'm going to say about that.

What am I talking about? Why, that would be Ficlets, a new playground for writers developed and hosted by Scalzi, among others, that he's current pimping over in his blog. It's much like Drabble Tag in that someone (and that someone could be you) posts a short story, or a snippet of a story, and then somebody else can come along and add to it. It's different from Drabble Tag in that it doesn't have to be drabbles (that is, 100 words exactly...although there is a character limit), and you can write prequels as well as sequels. Also, there's no tagging.

I'll probably be playing over there when I get some time. It looks like an excellent place to work out the ol' writing muscles.
