I finished my outline, complete with the revisions. It's the first time I plotted it all the way to the end, even though I've had the ending worked out in my noggin forever. It was nice to see it written down, even in summary. I'm pretty psyched about my climax. Maybe that will drive me to hurry up and get to it already.
As the outline currently stands, there are 35 chapters. I tend to average about 10 pages per chapter, so unless I'm screwing up the math, that means I'm looking at about 350 pages, around 70,000 words. IF I can stick to my quota of 1,000 words per day, every weekday, then I should be able to finish this draft in about 3 and a half months. I'll round it out and aim for four, just to give myself room for when life happens and screws up my routine.
70,000 words in four months. I can do that. If I start to whine and say that I can't do that, somebody please take the initiative and smack me.
