Public Service Message for Harry Potter Fans

I do not have The Deathly Hallows. I might try to pick it up after work tonight, but I don't plan to read it until I've finished re-reading the other six (I'm currently two chapters from the end of Sorcer's Stone).

Consider this a friendly reminder that if you spoil me I will come over there and beat you with a shovel.

Have a nice day, and happy reading!

You seriously think you'll make it the week or more it will take for you to finish the first 6 books without getting spoiled? I mean, best of luck to you, I mean it because it deserves to be read spoiler-free, but I'm pretty sure anyone who doesn't finish reading book 7 by Wednesday will stand a very, very good chance of getting spoiled somewhere. If you're really serious about reading book 7 all pure-like, I'd suggest skipping the re-read and diving into 7 ASAP, and just doing a full-series re-read down the road. I mean, that or get off the internet entirely, no reading blogs or blog comments, don't watch tv, read any magazines or newspapers, etc.

I thought it was kinda obvious that I meant here, in this blog, which sort of thing has happened before. Call me deluded, but I think I ought to be able to read my own blog comments (and e-mail, for that matter) without worrying about spoilage. Obviously, I'm responsible for any risks I take perusing the 'net elsewhere. I'm aware of this, but thanks for pointing it out! Anonymously, even!

I also hope it's pretty obvious that that whole shovel-beating thing was hyperbole, and that the chances of my making good on that particular threat are slim to none. But I will blow raspberries in your general direction.

So, if I spoil you you'll come visit me? This actually sounds like a very good deal, shovel notwithstanding.

Sigh. Some day. And you won't even have to spoil me to get me there.

Sorry if my first post came off snotty, but I was trying to be sincere. I know you meant don't post spoilers in your blog, but I was just giving you a heads up that spoilers abound and if you're anti-Potter spoiler, reading it sooner rather than later would be smart. Not 10 minutes ago, my local news on NBC did a piece on book 7 that mentioned some of the character deaths and major plot points right up front. It was hard enough avoiding spoilers before the book came out, now it's near impossible.

Duly noted. Sorry I got so defensive. Is it any consolation that I'm severely PMSing? Even my husband is avoiding me right now. ;)

I'm being pretty selective about where I go on the 'net, and my TV watching is limited to DVDs and TiVo, so I think I can hold out fairly safely. Not really a choice right now, since I don't even have the book yet (after an unsuccessful search for it last night at local retailers I ordered it from Amazon, so I should have it by Thursday, at least).
