Sometimes, things actually go our way for a change. I don't want to tempt fate by tooting our horns too loudly, but this has been a pretty good week.
For one thing, I'm published. For those who haven't been following my indie publishing progress over at Jeanie Writes Genre, my debut novella, Restless Spirits, is now available for the Kindle on Amazon.com, and for about every other device (or just your computer screen) at Smashwords.
Some of you fine folks might have read it already -- this is a re-packaged and re-edited version of This Old Haunt, and the changes aren't significant enough to warrant paying to read it again (unless you just liked it that much). But the best news is that it's selling. Not a lot, and it's certainly not going to bring in enough to let me quit my "day job" any time soon, but for a debut indie novella, it's doing very respectably so far.
But the best news of all this week came from Matt's doctor. With his medical history, he's so conditioned to expect bad news about his health that he was too scared to make (or keep) a doctor's appointment for the longest time. But he finally went this week, and they did a full screening panel for anything that could possibly be wrong with him, and everything came back normal. In fact, his blood sugar was so good that the doctor said he's basically cured of diabetes, as long as he keeps doing what he's doing.
He's still scheduled to get an ultrasound to check out some discomfort he's been having in his side, but the doctor didn't find anything during her exam, and I'm praying and believing that they won't find anything on the ultrasound, either. They still need to treat his sleeping disorder so hopefully he'll start feeling as healthy as he actually is, but overall, I have a healthy husband! Yay and hallelujah!
Now if we can just get my reproductive innards as healthy as he is, we'll be good to go.
