Important Fangirl Reminder

Best not be forgetting that Teh Marsters is on Torchwood tomorrow night on BBC America.

That link takes you to a TV Guide interview.

In other loosely 'verse-related news, Episode 6 of The Guild is up. Poor Codex.

Is it still slash if it's canon?

Did I say posting would start yesterday? BWAH HA HA!

But seriously. I watched a lot of movies on my break, and read a lot (that's part of the problem right there--I'm still in more of a mood to read than I am to write), and reviews are coming...sometime. I am gradually getting my blogging act back together, though, so that's something.

Here, have some man candy.

The slash writes itself.

Angel credits, and some mind-bending Marsters movie casting news

First, this fan-made credits sequence for the new Angel comic made me warm and happy inside:

Second, James Marsters will play Piccolo in a live action Dragon Ball Z movie.

Er. Um. Piccolo? Really? Yay?

Not that I don't love Piccolo, but this is SO close to the fantasies I used to have of him playing Vegeta. And yet so far...

Various & sundry

Some links and items of interest:

FOX has yanked the licensing for the Buffy Sing-along. If you were hoping to catch a viewing of that in your neighborhood someday, you can sign the petition here.

James Marsters is still pretty adorable.

Chrome-jobs have feelings too, apparently: We Were Centurions

...that's all.

Bonus Boyfriend: Marsters On Without A Trace

Here's a couple of sneak-peek pics of James Marsters in his latest role. Mmm. And, damn. I don't want to have to watch this show.

Unrelatedly (unless you count the Whedon connection): I'd pay to see this movie.

August 15, 2007

At least not every Thursday is a school night...

Great. Now I'm going to have to start staying up to watch Without A Trace.

Yay James!

Today is like Fangirl Christmas!

It will be at least another year before I get to see it, seeing as how the first season of Torchwood won't kick off until September on any channel to which I have access, but if James Marsters' Season 2 appearance means the Internet will keep on bringing me eye candy like this, then I suppose I can be patient.

Marsters and Ackles in one place? *dies* Also: Hi, we're twelve.

My fellow Supernatural junkies might want to check out this interview with the show's creators. It's vaguely spoilery, in the way that they speak vaguely of what's to come without going into any specifics. Here's some non-spoilery highlights:

- Singer would really like for James Marsters to guest star at some point. That might be more pretty all in one place than I can handle. But I'll do my best if it ever happens.

- DC and Wildstorm are doing a prequel comic that will follow Daddy Winchester and how he became a demon hunter.

- Kripke confirms that Tessa the Reaper was indeed based on Death from Sandman. Like there was ever any doubt.

I'm about halfway caught up on my filing, no thanks to my dear husband. I should have added "no text messaging" to yesterday's list of no-nos. I killed about thirty minutes this morning with the following exchange:
Him (randomly): Flash! Ah-ah...

Me: He'll save every one of us!

Him: Well I spoke to Flash, and he said he can get me out of this, but he's pretty sure you're fucked. Ha! Ah-aaaah!

Me (more randomly): Juno [from The Descent] was the native princess in "Jeremiah Chrichton" and the meds smuggler in "The Great Raid."

Him: Huh. And I didn't even recognize her.

Me: Your special powers of actor recognition have failed you! Now who's fucked?

Him: Weeeak.

Me: :p
...

It's good that I married a fellow twelve-year-old.

Here's some Gratuitous James Marsters to see you to your weekend.

Housekeeping

Randomly (except not really):

~ I think this entire week is going to be about catching up and taking care of business. I figure that the powers that be here at the office will smile a little more kindly on all of my recent absenteeism if I can show that I'm, y'know, actually getting my work done instead of blowing it off to write. In whatever spare time I can find, I'll be taking care of end-of-year personal crap and getting any necessary online Christmas shopping out of the way. All of which will free me up for...

~ MyNoWriMo! Seeing as how November did its ever loving best to beat me down and keep me away from my novel, once I'm caught up I'm going to declare the rest of December (excluding a few days off around Christmas) to be my own personal novel writing month. If I can't make 50K by the end of THIS month, then... well, then I suppose I shall cry. But rest assured, dear readers, that once MyNoWriMo gets underway you can look forward not only to more chapter updates at the writing blog, but also fewer in-depth and loquacious posts from me here. Oh yes, and a return to Gratuitous Marsters Picspam. And there was much rejoicing!

~ I think I've decided to forgo the Crapometer this time around. Like I said, my manuscript is nowhere near where I thought it would be by now, and even if it was, it would still be about a year away from being ready to query anybody. I think my time will be better spent, for now, focusing on how to tell the story instead of how to sell it. But as with previous Crapometers, I expect to learn a lot by observation, even without participation.

~ And in news that's totally unrelated to anything: if you're reading this via the feeds then you're probably not aware that I redid things a little around here. I just changed the background and coloring. It's not much, but I think it's both Holiday appropriate and non-specific enough that I won't have to change it as soon as the season ends. The new background reminds me of wrapping paper. Festive!

~ At last, I shall leave you with: Mittens!

These are a combination of two different patterns, one from each Stitch 'N' Bitch book, plus a little improvisation on my part. The main part is made out of Lion Brand Wool-Eze, so it's both low-maintenance and warm. The pair took me two snow days to knit, but again, I'm a slow knitter, and working in the round with (unwieldy!) double-pointed needles slows me down even more. A faster knitter could probably do the pair in a single day.

Return of Gratuitous Marsters Picspam

I'm so sorry to have neglected you guys.

Sharp Dressed James

Oh, yeah. You remember.

GMP!

Eugh. My writing output sucked today. I lose at NaNoWriMo.

Here's your daily James Marsters.

November 10, 2006

GMP! And a random list.

*My novel passed the 10,000 word mark today. I'm hardly a NaNo contender, but at least I'm making progress.

*Today's output is up at the writing blog.

*Royal Carribean says they're not liable for Matt's wedding ring and won't be reimbursing us for our loss. That's not what the security people told us when they searched our stateroom. I'm pissed. I know Matt will be, too, but he needs to be the one to call and fight with them, because I'm no good at that sort of thing.

*I have a car insurance payment due tomorrow that they never sent me a bill for, and when I called to ask what to write on the check they were already closed. Bastiges.

*I'm hungry.

*I'm picking up some sushi on the way home.

*But first I'm going yarn shopping. It's that time of year, and I've got my Christmas and winter projects all lined up, including a sweater for Matt. I think now that we're married we're safe from the sweater curse. I'm still apprehensive about it, though, because it's my first sweater. Here's hoping I don't screw it up.

*Yay yarn shopping!

*Finally, here's your gratuitous Marsters picspam. Yay James!

If HE represents the Lollipop Guild, then sign me up!

Have a good weekend, everybody.

GMP-Spam!

Here's your semi-daily James Marsters fix.

Buzzed & bespectacled James

November 7, 2006

Gratuitous Marsters Picspam!

In an attempt to both take up some of the slack around here whilst I focus on my NaNo project and please the majority at the same time...

Classic Spike-era Post-punk James

This won't happen daily. But it will happen often. Enjoy.

Marsters Mania

Huh. And also, heh. Looking at my blog stats this morning, I see that my recent post about James Marsters and his new movie is the most visited post in this blog ever. Not that that's much of a surprise, but it does tell me that if I want to drive up my blog traffic, I ought to work him in more often. Shouldn't be too hard. It's not like I mind talking about the guy.

Halloween Link #30 / Jimmy Cracks Corn (And I Still Care!)

Jamie Kelman's Makeup Tips for Monsters - Halloween makeup how-tos from a former Buffy makeup artist.

***

Speaking of former Buffy artists... I've been pretty out of touch with the fandom since leaving LiveJournal, and I've no doubt this news is ancient history over there, but I just today became enlightened to the fact that James Marsters has been cast as a "co-lead" in an actual studio movie starring Hillary Swank and Gerard Butler, among other big names.

Now, if you know me at all, you know that I lurves me some Marsters. Gaining a flesh-and-blood husband may have diminished the passion I once had for my fantasy TV boyfriend, but there is still a lingering affection that will never fade, no matter what kind of cornball endeavor he pursues. And even I have to admit that, post-BtVS, it seemed like his entire career was in danger of becoming one giant cornball endeavor and his talent was going to waste. So it both pleases and pains me a little to admit that as I read the news, first that this was a "real" studio movie that's neither made for cable nor direct to DVD, and then the rest of the cast list, my reaction was pretty much thus: "Really? Really?! Wow, really???" Really! Yay, James! Get on with your bad movie star self! And please don't blow it. I'd much rather go to the theater and lay down my eight bucks to see you as something other than Spike than have to fast forward through any more TiVo'd episodes of The Mountain. Go Jimmy go!
